Story

Each child’s cancer journey is very different with a very different outcome!

Did you know that Childhood Cancer takes the lives of more children and teens than all other diseases combined? Childhood Cancer only receives 1.4% of Cancer Research UK budget to fight all childhood cancers. I am sure you will be shocked at this as children are our future.

Our children Kai Laidlaw aged 3 & Leon Rendle aged 16 will not have a future as they both gained their angel wings early in 2016! We have met so many other amazing and inspirational children and their families throughout Scotland who have shared our journey & outcome, Childhood cancer is not RARE!

Every family on this journey must always have hope, you fight for your child with every breath. Sadly, it is a reality that children die, it is not the natural order of things but it happens as we know.

We want to make a difference to the lives of children affected by a terminal cancer diagnosis and their families in Scotland by supporting them through their final journey and grief by offering practical & emotional support. Sign post families to the right place quickly to ease their stress and work with other charities and organisations so families can concentrate on the child. We will help cover expenses associated with a child’s terminal cancer diagnosis and so much more. We have tailored our charity to suit the needs of the child & their family as we have walked in their shoes. We will also offer independent counselling, a peer support & information network and emotional support when they need it.

We will also raise awareness of childhood cancer, we will only make a change by making families aware! Early diagnosis is crucial and there are no early detection warning signs. Late or Mis-diagnosis is all too common in childhood cancer. Increased funding is essential for research into kinder treatments for children, but awareness is vital to save lives.

We feel it is vital to help improve the care given when a child dies from childhood cancer!

With your help, we aim to achieve all this. If you can help us in anyway contact us! #Teamwork Please help us by fundraising to make this possible no amount is too small! Every penny makes a difference! Thank you for your time & kindness x
