As many of you are already aware, Widnes Vikings were placed into administration in February 2019. However, with the valiant efforts from local businesses and fans, enough
money was raised to pull the mighty Vikings from administration, to ensure that they could continue to play.

With ongoing support from these local businesses and from the fans, WISSL have been running events throughout the year, with all proceeds going to Widnes Vikings, to continue helping to sustain the club, and on 31 August, we will take on our toughest test to date by walking up Snowdon.

Our head of events, Anne-Marie said “this is going to be absolutely fantasic for us to get together with the fans and do something that will allow us to feel a sense of accomplishment, not only for ourselves but also for the club. We wanted to arrange an event that everyone could be involved in, from kids to the even bigger kids. There is a train which runs up Snowdon for people who are less able, but still want to be a part of it, and they can do just that”.
