Liam Finazzi is my Girlfriends 5 year old nephew.
In December 2016 he was diagnosed with Burkitts Leukemia and sadly has been in hospital ever since..
The usual cure rate is 90% but Liam had an aggressive form and relapsed on his 1st cycle of treatment, he was given a lot of chemo and unfortunately contracted the flu virus which attacked his brain and caused significant damage and this normal, lively little boy has been left immobile and unable to communicate.
It really is a race against time to get him the support he needs, and in a timely fashion so he can recover enough to fight the disease if it returns (as he was only on cycle 1 of 6)

I am doing Ironman UK in 2 weeks on the 16th July. Ironman is a 2.4 mile open water swim, 112 mile bike ride and a full Marathon run to finish. Its hard and tough going but nothing compared to what this little guy and his family have gone through in the past 8 months.
