£1,475raised of £2,000 target by 24 supporters

Weʼve raised £1,475 to Help build and furnish a Community Centre in a remote village in Swaziland

    Manzini, Swaziland
Funded on Friday, 15th September 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Hertfordshire Scouts are sending an expedition to Swaziland in 2018 to work on 2 community projects. In addition to completing the building and fit out of a Community Centre, they hope to fill a 40' container with essentials (decorating materials, computers, sewing machines, sports kits, library books etc...) and convert for building use once on site.

The Centre will bring the outside world to a village that is currently 2 hours away from the internet, meaning there are limited opportunities to understand the wider world.

As well as the educational opportunities, the Centre will provide recreational facilities and it will run a soup kitchen, ensuring the youngest get one hot meal a day.

This is the brainchild and passion of one Swazi Scout, who has been working with Hertfordshire Scouts over a number of years. The end is very near and this expedition will greatly help bring it to a finish.

With these donations and the funds raised from other efforts, William is nearly a quarter of the way to his target. Let's see if we can get 30% by the weekend.
