Willie Waddell was born in the small mining village of Forth, South Lanarkshire, and rose to football and fame. He had a successful career in football, spanning from Forth Wanderers to Glasgow Rangers and even Scotland. He then went on to manage Kilmarnock & later Rangers. As well as having a successful journalism career.

This year is the 25th anniversary of his death, and a committee in his home village of Forth has formed to erect a fitting tribute to commemorate him and his success.

We hope to rename the local sports centre after him and then look towards a memorial stone in his honour, continuing to raise awareness of this great Forth man.
