Welcome to thewirralbakeoff - this year our chosen charity is The UTS foundation @utsgym. The UTS Foundation has helped Julie enormously both mentally and physically (post cancer surgery) giving her wonderful fighting spirit back & wants to give something back to the amazing team at the UTS. Julie is therefore competing in the Wilmslow Sprint-Triathlon in May with her husband and friends and owes this remarkable recovery in no small way to the dedicated staff at The UTS Foundation.

The money raised will go towards their vision of helping vulnerable local people, from the Wirral and surrounding areas in their physical and mental recovery – giving hope that other people who are diagnosed with cancer can benefit from the support that a patient needs to heal.

The foundation also aims to help older people with health issues & disadvantaged young people/ adults who would benefit from free structured sessions .

The five year vision and the purpose of the project is to provide accessible and free structured coaching, health and well-being sessions to vulnerable community groups across the Wirral and at our facility sites. The UTS Foundation will work in partnership with a range of agencies, such as the NHS, police, youth service, youth offending teams, schools, colleges and youth clubs to help and support these people. UTS also has excellent links with partner agencies and local clubs, which will allow the Foundation to signpost individuals to sports, activities, clubs and professional groups who can work with the Foundation to help these people.
