    Story

    I am travelling to Chùa Lá Gò Vấp, Quang Trung in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam in September 2017 to volunteer for 12 weeks with La Pagoda ( Chance Giver Project ).Chance Giver project takes place in a pagoda where people aim to bring better language education to young students. They provide language education at a cost that couldn’t be more affordable – 0 VND so that every young students can take part in. This project is located in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest and most visited city of Vietnam.

    I am looking for well wishers who can provide in-kind support or donations to help me fund my Airfare , Health Insurance , AIESEC fees and Visa during my stay in Ho Chi Minh. The Chance Giver Project is already kind enough to provide accommodation and food ( Vegan meal which will be served three times a day) .

    I have four major responsibilities which will include;
    1.Designing lesson plans, teaching English (Japanese, Chinese) to students aged from 7 - 21 years old.
    2.Building content, designing plans and organizing extra-curricular activities for students.
    3.Joining relief or charity trips organized by the pagoda (if any)
    4.Engaging in AIESEC integration events, learning - development activities

    This opportunity to volunteer abroad will inspire other University students from Kenya to pursue pro-social causes in their future lives and careers.I want to be involved to improve the quality of education for these students and children in the La Pagoda.

    At a personal level this volunteer experience will develop my leadership potential through experiential learning

    This volunteer abroad has been enabled by AIESEC .AIESEC is a non-governmental not-for-profit organisation in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), affiliated with the UN DPI, member of ICMYO, and is recognized by UNESCO. AIESEC International is registered as a Foundation (Stichting), RSIN #807103895 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
