£142raised of £7,000 target by 12 supporters

Weʼre raising £7,000 to help boost our fundraising for a School Library Bus. Come on board our project!

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

”Is there anything the school would like for a wish list for this school year from the PTA?”

”Ahh, yes. Mrs Macadam would like a bus to convert into a library”

And so we laughed and laughed until we realised this was not a joke!

Hi, I’m Carrie, Chairperson of Woodbank Primary School PTA since 2016 to present. Supported by a wonderful team we work extremely hard for our charity (1072929) to raise much needed funds for the school and children. As a mother of 3 boys whom all attend Woodbank, I hope that the PTA provides wonderful memories and experiences for the children in their time at school, whilst also providing equipment to make the teachers and pupils lives a little more interesting and easier in a budget ridden world.

Woodbank Primary School is based in Bury, Lancashire. With 318 pupils at the last count, space is in high demand and previous resource areas are now being used as classrooms and the current library is in the middle of a thoroughway to get to other classrooms. It’s uninviting, small, noisy and uninspiring. Our new bus is kindly being donated by local company Rosso/Transdev and they will help to get the bus to a basic level. But we must kit it out with all the interior seating and shelving. It will require an armoured cable to allow electricity for lights and heating. Without the heating/ dehumidifier the books will perish. We will require a security system to prevent unwanted visitors to the bus.

Our vision is to provide the children with a fun, stimulating and welcoming area for reading and also provide them with the right environment to evoke writing opportunities. An area that will be in the heart of the school grounds and in the right weather, allow them to take their reading and learning outside. It will have disability access to the ground floor to make the library inclusive to all our pupils.Igniting the imagination of not only our pupils but their parents, grandparents, carers and providing a blueprint for our local area on how to achieve something vital for the school.

We welcome our community to get “on board” with our project and so far have had a fantastic response.

If you can spare a pound,

Or even fifty pence,

For Woodbank Primary school,

Well that would be immense.

And even if you can’t,

Well that’s no problem there,

But if you wouldn’t mind,

This post - please could you share ❤️

Many thanks

All the team at Woodbank PTA
