    Story

The Woodhead Railway route that ran between Manchester & Sheffield was an iconic and picturesque Railway, the Line was originally used for passenger trains from Manchester to Sheffield and beyond, which also was a main traffic route for both the Coal & Steel industry.
Sadly the line closed in 1983 and is now in the history books as being one of the most iconic railways which was a pionering route for the use of electric locomotives.
Our aim is to renovate the building at Guide Brige Station into a Woodhead Railway Heritage Centre, the Centres purpose is to display the story of the railway including artifacts from when it ws first built to current day for local schools & groups including the local comunity and visitors from afar to learn about the history of the Woodhead Railway.
We also will be including a community room to be used by the local community groups and will also have a small micro buffet & shop.
The money raised will help towards the renovation work required to bring the building up to standard to be developed into a Heritage Centre.

your help & support for the project is ggreatly appreciated
