Weʼve raised £20 to Send 10 Scouts and 1 Guide to the 24th World Scout Jamboree in North America in July 2019
- Macclesfield, UK
- Funded on Tuesday, 14th August 2018
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We are ten very proud Scouts and one Guide from the Macclesfield & Congleton (M&C) District who have received the great honour of being selected to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) in North America in July 2019. We will be joining 45,000 other Scouts and Guides from over 150 countries around the globe for what is billed as the largest educational event bringing the world's young people together to promote peace.
In total, between us all we need to raise nearly £42,000, with each ‘Jamboreer’ having to raise almost £3,900 to secure their place on the WSJ. This covers the costs of: the selection camp; UK training and support over 18 months; our camp kit; travel costs to and within America; and the official WSJ Fees for the camp itself. About half of the official WSJ Fee charged to the UK ‘Jamboreers’ funds attendance of Scouts and Guides from poorer countries and contributes towards a global WSJ Solidarity Fund, which also supports attendance of some UK Scouts.
