Whitchurch United Football Club is based in Hampshire's smallest town with a population of around 6,500 and the club has a history back to 1903. Whitchurch United Football Club is a not for profit sports club supporting 5 adult teams and 15 youth teams and is continuing to grow. It is run by a committee of volunteers and all the coaches, admin, helpers etc do it all for nothing. The club has worked really hard to achieve Chartered Standard Status with the FA for both adult and youth sections.
I personally have served on the Club's committee as one of the Welfare Officers for the last 3 years and the amount of growth that has happened in that time is amazing. You cannot achieve that much growth without an army of dedicated, passionate people and I am proud to be part of that. We have overcome plenty of hurdles and difficulties to get to this point and have tried really hard to make the club a viable operation for the future.
The Club pride themselves on the amount of support we have to bring grassroots football to a wide age of players wanting to participate. Our main pitch facilities are used for matches from U13 up and the changing room, stands and fencing are in dire need of repair or replacement that can no longer be patched over.
With the growth of the club, the need for more equipment or replacement equipment continues to stretch finances and leaves little left over for general repairs. Our initial plans are £1500 for a set of large goals for our off-site youth training, £150 x 2 for small goals for the younger youth. £1000 to complete the footpath around the main pitch. £800 to replace doors to the office, referees room and changing room. £200 to replace the shutters on the Tea Bar. £600 to replace the roof and doors of the machinery shed. £600 to repair and update the stands.
Every penny counts. Thank you
