Story
Did you know that East Anglia is the only region of the country currently without its own Children's Hospital?
Can you help us raise money to support the new Children's Hospital proposed for Addenbrooke's and be part of something amazing?
Wymondham Rugby Club is hosting a charity fun day on 1 August with all monies raised going to the Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust to support the new Children's Hospital project.
Background:
In February 2021, one of our U14's players, Hugo Pattison, was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer. Initially, his care was split between the Norfolk & Norwich and Addenbrooke's Hospitals where he received surgery and three rounds of chemotherapy. In June he travelled to the Evelina at St Thomas' in London to receive further specialist robotic surgery.
The new children's hospital proposed for Addenbrooke's will become a centre of excellence and will allow children suffering from serious illness to be treated in a single facility within the Eastern Counties region.
Hugo has decided to put his post care efforts into raising awareness of testicular cancer, especially amongst teenagers and young adults and to raise money for the new Children's Hospital at Addenbrooke's.
