Story
What Will It Take You To Say ‘Yes!’
In 2013, I had an idea, ‘within 5 years I will have started a campaign to give our youth the opportunity to learn how to have a ‘yes I can’ attitude.’ It is very apparent and often talked about that many youths live every day believing that they are not enough and tend to say ‘I cannae dae it’ for fear of failing.
Failure leads to withdrawal, or frustration and withdrawal and frustration leads to an array of unwarranted behaviour, and a sense of not being understood. Yet, as adults, we want our youth to have bright futures.
January 2016, there was an opportunity to invite an International Youth Coach, Mentor, Philanthropist to speak with an audience that of my choice.
In February 2017 the first ‘Yes I Can’ event is being held in Glasgow, UK, organised for youths by youths, for young people and adults involved with raising, educating and supporting the next generation. Bringing you together for a day of inspirational talks to learn and experience how you can do much, much more than you ever imagined, and meet some youths who have already overcome ‘I cannae dae it’ attitude, encouraging you to leave as Leaders, to guide and inspire others.
This campaign is to help us bring you all together, invite the key-note speakers, youth coaches, and a marketplace of organisations to seek advice and information to take your next step. Your contribution will help us make this day not only a success but memorable. Making it happen will support us to begin our journey to reach all youths across Scotland and ‘help them create brighter futures.’
So what will it take you to say ‘Yes!’
