Having being extremely lucky in securing a ballot place for the Great North Run in September, I’m now hoping to raise some money for a cause close to my heart, animal welfare. My daughter and I spent time recently volunteering at Many Tears animal rescue in Wales who take in lots of needy dogs and we were really impressed with the care and work they do. We even ended up adopting a 4 Year old frightened ex-breeding cocker spaniel called Yolanda who despite her sad background is proving to be a real gem! I help out at our local RSPCA who after decades are starting their kennel rebuild shortly . They are in desparate need of larger kennels and bedding etc. So the money will be split equally between these two organisations. I will be raising money for Yolanda and all the other mistreated dogs like her who deserve a loving home.
