We are raising money for local soup kitchens in the Essex area to help feed their homeless service users and supply them with some essentials they need to survive.

One being the Homeless Street Hub who have purchased a bus to convert into a night shelter which will be based in Southend-on-Sea in Essex

The bus itself will be renovated to include sleeping pods for up to 16 rough sleepers. There will be a kitchen/lounge area and seating area for services to support and engage with rough sleepers on the bus during the day. The bus will be powered by solar panels on the roof of the bus. Each sleeping pod will have its own curtain for privacy.

Guests on the bus will be given a PO BOX address so that they can access benefits, register with medical services and apply for jobs. The shelter will be a place for support and a stepping stone for guests to be able to work towards getting a home of their own.

We would like to be able to raise funds to help furnish or buy materials they are unable to get donated. We would also make donations and buy supplies for other soup kitchens helping homeless people in Essex.
