Story
In July 2018, a small group of sixth formers and I will travel out to Kabale, Uganda, to help 3 schools in the area by donating much needed equipment and carrying out improvements to their facilities. We will be painting the newly built secondary school; this secondary school in Kabale is one of the only schools in Africa that accommodates and provides education for disadvantaged children who may suffer from deafness and other disabilities. We will also be cultivating the large plot of land that serves as a vegetable plot which provides food for the meals that are served to the children by the school everyday. For the majority of the children, this meal is the only food they will eat all day. Currently, the closest site of clean water to the school is a small well which is a long trek away, during our stay, we will be installing a water system underground that will allow all members of the school to have easy access to clean drinking water on tap- something we all take for granted everyday but something that will have such a large, positive impact on the childrens' lives.
As well as these building projects, we will also have the opportunity to visit the schools frequently and teach lessons to the children and give them donations of clothes, stationery and other school equipment.
To make all this happen I need to raise £1800 which to cover travel, accommodation and necessary inoculations for the trip. I would be very grateful for any donations, small or large that will help me to go to Uganda and make a difference by changing the lives of the children who live there, for the better.
