Story

Hi my name is Zayaan and I’ve just had my 16th birthday. I have been awarded a fantastic honour to represent our country at the ISKA World Championships in Jamaica on September 10th.

I need your help and am seeking funding to realise my dream of becoming a World Champion and bring home a gold medal.

I have been training in martial arts all of my life according to my mum. Allegedly, whilst pregnant I kicked her constantly for 6 months solid! I am currently the ISKA English National K1 Light Champion at and the WKU National Continuous Champion .

The two title wins were huge achievements especially after having to overcome a serious injury in 2015. I fractured my leg in two places and was out of competition for 2 years. The injury couldn’t have come at a worse time as I was one grading away from black belt and had just been awarded Student of the Year.

My recovery path was long and frustrating. I was not able to run on the leg 2 years later without aggravating the injury. I was doing no sports, I was unfit, and my confidence was shattered.

During low points, the idea of becoming a national champion and qualifying for the world championships was a distant dream. However with renewed belief, hard work and support from my family and the East Area Team, I persevered and kept with it.

My determination was rewarded in 2017 as at aged 15 , I achieved my First Dan Black Belt and won two National Kickboxing Titles.

With your help, I believe I can go one better and become a World Champion! My previous achievements demonstrate the spirit and character I possess. If I travel to Jamaica , I travel to win and return with a gold medal for England.

I and family are putting everything aside to support the cost which even includes my annoying little sister doing car washes and a paper rounds. I also referee junior football games and am using my wages to support the cost.

Any donation offered will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.
