    Story

All donations will go towards covering costs and the rest of the proceeds will go to charity!

We are three students currently in our final year at Falmouth University studying Creative Events Management, and for our very last assessed event we are putting on a small scale Zero Waste Workshop. Due to our very limited budget we would be grateful if you could please donate any amount of money to help our event be a success and provide us with the funds needed to purchase the materials for the workshop, so that we can inspire others to find a more sustainable way to live.

Worldwide reliance on disposable plastic packaging is overwhelming our planet. By 2050, the oceans will contain more plastic than fish.

Zero Waste is a philosophy that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused. The goal is for no trash to be sent to landfills or incinerators. Maximising recycling, minimising waste, reducing consumption and ensuring that products are made to be reused, repaired or recycled back into nature or the marketplace.

'Zero Waste Workshop' is an event to inform and engage the local community about the ever-increasing issue of plastic pollution. Our aim is to promote this as a way for people to learn to use/make alternatives to plastic wrapped products. There will be two guest speakers followed by a workshop where attendees will get the chance to make their own soaps, wax wraps and produce bags, with vegan & vegetarian canapes on offer as well as potentially a zero waste starter pack that attendees can take home with them to get them started on their sustainable journey. The event will take place on the 28th April, from 12:00pm - 4:00pm.
