Story
Lekkerwater is a small rural townland in Zimbabwe. Each day about 300 children attend a small primary school run by the United Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa.
Currently, the end of primary school means the end of the children's education. There is no secondary school within 10 miles, and most of the children have no transport or funds to attend a boarding school to continue their education.
In 2015, First Ballymoney Church began fundraising to build a secondary school. It costs between 10 - 15k to build a classroom, and to date, 2 of the 4 classrooms are built and the 3rd is well under way.
Any money you give will go directly to help complete the 3rd classroom, and this school will literally transform the lives of the children and the community in Lekkerwater. It will give these children the knowledge and confidence they need to create a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their community.
Jonny and Gareth are doing "Coast to Coast", a 320km race by bike, kayak and foot, from Enniscrone on the west coast of Ireland, to Newcastle on the north coast.
So far we've raised £945 (previous crowdfunding page and coffee morning - thanks to all). Please help us rewrite this story and transform the lives of these children
