My name is Zoe and I am a 15 year old student. There is a project at our school called ‘personal project’ where we have to choose something which is meaningful to us and make a product out of it. I have chosen to raise money by completing a tough challenge called the ‘3 peaks’ to raise money for an orphanage in Cuba (in Matanzas) which I will be visiting over Christmas. I will be climbing up the 3 highest mountains in Great Britain to show how much I am willing to do to help the less fortunate children. I am aware of how lucky I am and how priviledged I am to have grown up in such a secure and family friendly environment. Which is why I want to use this opportunity that I have to give back to these children. I have chosen one in Cuba as Cuba is a poor country and having the basic needs for children might be hard for them to get access to. Cuba has also sadly been hit by hurricane Irma, which they are still recovering from. So I hope that the money will also help them to improve their conditions. So overall I hope that the money that I will be raising will help a few children to live a better life and see the world in a more positive way.
