My Brother and I are running a half marathon on November the 15th with a target of completing this in 1 hour 55 minutes. Those of you that know me well will know I enjoy running but have yet to complete a half marathon in less then 2 hours.

We are now 2 weeks into a 10 week training course in which we are trying to raise money for the Medical Assessment unit at The Royal Derby hospital. This is the unit I work on full time as a Sister and is one of the hospitals busiest departments taking all medical admissions from A&E, Clinics and GP surgeries.

The unit has been hit very hard by the recent pandemic and is also the unit that receives all possible cases of COVID needing admission.

The staff I work with ranging from the cleaning team, porters, carers, nurses and medical staff work very hard on a daily basis to keep our patients safe in these uncertain times.

I shall be running to raise money for the Medical Assessment Unit. I would like to be able to put some money towards funding items which are much needed to improve patient experience when arriving on MAU especially at present with the risks and anxieties surrounding this horrible virus.

Any help no matter how big or small is really appreciated.
