Story
When our dearest friend and next door neighbour, Tina Hanson, passed away after a long and brave battle against cancer, I was determined to undertake a challenge in her memory. As Tina was a life long Wolves football fan I decided that a suitable task was to cycle from Molineux (the Wolves Stadium) to Ealing and in the process raise money for the Meadow House Hospice in Ealing where Tina found considerable comfort during difficult times. This 150 mile journey will be undertaken on a network of canal tow-paths commencing on 22nd July and ending on 25th July. My trusty vehicle back up team are Janet and our friend Danuta. Please don't underestimate the challenge as until I commenced training a few weeks ago I hadn't had a serious bike ride for over 20 years. Also the tow-path ride brings plenty of obstacles including ramblers, joggers, anglers, dogs, varying surfaces, potential punctures and width restrictions. Particular thanks go to The Falcon Inn at Hatton, The Walnut Inn at Blisworth, and The Forester in Ealing for their kind and generous support. I would also like to thank my back up team, our friend Tiffy Clifford for loaning me his bike and my mate Gary Grisdale for riding the first day with me. Any support that you can provide in sponsorship will be greatly appreciated and assist me in my determination to complete this adventure and reach the target. In Tina's memory and for the benefit of those requiring the help of Meadow House Hospice in the future I thank you in advance. John
