This morning I rashly signed up to this, with a romantic view of strolling the streets of London in the moonlight, indulging in an evening steeped in culture and architectural excellence, and some rather lovely nibbles.

Then I read the small print. 

• The 'stroll' is a 15 mile hike
• It's all night long
• in September
• therefore it will most likely be raining
• and I need to make £250.
