Story

My name is Dan Shaw, and on the 23rd of April 2013 I will be travelling to Kenya for 3 months with the VSO ICS programme. Myself and other UK volunteers will be teaming up with counterpart volunteers from the host country in order to make a positive and lasting impact to struggling Kenyan communities.

The topic of my placement is Health which involves providing information on the importance of hygiene, the dangers of HIV/AIDS and the benefits of vaccination. Together I hope that the efforts of myself and the other volunteers will help to alleviate the level of disease in our community.

I have pledged to raise £1500 for the VSO ICS programme before I leave for Kenya, and through fundraising activities (including a 30km walk!), the generosity of local charities and the help of my friends I hope to raise this amount. However £1500 is a lot of money and I'm going to need all the help I can get to reach my target!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Anything that you can give will be greatly appreciated, both by myself and the communities it will go on to help, so please, dig deep and donate now!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
