We raise funds to support Hull Hospitals to enhance and enrich patient experiences

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 8th September 2019 I will be completing the Great North Run in memory of my step-dad, Graham Dyson. I will be doing so alongside my brother, Drew, and his girlfriend, Vicki.

Graham was tragically taken from us on 4th September last year following a combination of kidney and bowel problems. During the final months of his life he received outstanding care on Ward 50, the Renal Ward, at Hull Royal Infirmary. For this reason I would like to use my participation in the run to raise money for the ward, via WISHH - the charity Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals.

Please read the following mission statement for more information on WISHH's:

'Historically hospitals have always relied on public support, even after the founding of the NHS; Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Hospitals are no different. Our mission as a charity is to raise money to help the Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital do more to ensure every patient receives the best and most modern care possible. Your support will help provide additional specialist equipment and support services, as well as aid the transformation of spaces and facilities within the hospitals for patient and visitor comfort alike.'

If you would like to read more about Graham and the care he received on Ward 50 you can do so in the following tribute I wrote, which was very kindly published by both Northern Life Magazine and the NHS:

I would be forever grateful for anything you are able to donate and I have no doubt it would make a difference to patients and their families.

Thank you,

Danny x
