After having served with my friend Chris Duncan with mountain rescue at RAF Valley back in the 1990's I followed Chris' journey last year. Chris took to the hills once more when he successfully completed the Yorkshire three peaks challenge for the charity Models for Heroes. Models for Heroes helps veterans who experience P.T.S.D. I felt, that a way of supporting Chris, his journey and all other veterans, was to run this years London Marathon with all donations received being given to Models for Heroes. Models for Heroes provide a reliable supply of quality scale model kits and relevant modelling materials to over 40 localised and national military and mental health organisations in the UK. On average we facilitate 150 veterans per month with therapeutic activities. We also promote and teach the scale modelling hobby as a benefit to mental and physical health, loneliness and well-being.With 100 enthusiastic volunteers and the full support of the modelling community we can continue to flourish.
