Hello!   I have now completed by bike ride challenge and yes it was very challenging at times!  There were some very big hills in Wales, especially over the Brecon Beacons, but that also meant there were some great down hills too!  Our maximum speed was 44 mph!   The scenery was spectacular and much of the ride was either off road or down very quiet tracks in the middle of the countryside.

We didn't have too many mishaps - we got lost once, which meant a 15 mile detour as we were the wrong side of the river, we (I) had 2 punctures and Ed's chain broke on the very last day.  Not bad for just over 250 miles of hard biking.  Here are a few statistics:

Day 1 - 88 miles, ride time - 8.13 hrs.   Day 2 - 72 miles, ride time - 7.44 hrs.       

Day 3 - 56.74 miles, ride time - 6.50 hrs.   Day 4 - 34.75- miles, ride time - 3.19 hrs.

It was a fantastic challenge and a real personal achievement.  I feel very proud of myself for doing it, especially all to schedule.  I hope to do another challenge next year - if you want to volunteer to join me, just let me know!
