Story

On the 21st of March 2015, we will be setting off to ride 420km over 5 days through Death Valley in the Mojave desert. We are looking to raise a total of over £3,250 for the Alzheimer's Society by putting ourselves through a week of sore legs and bums in the heat of Death Valley.

Death Valley Cycle

Day1 – Beatty Junction to Stovepipe Wells via Daylight Pass (4,317ft). Cycling distance approx. 30 miles / 48 km.
Day2 – Stovepipe Wells to Panamint Springs via Emigrant Pass (5,328ft). Cycling distance approx. 54 miles / 87 km.
Day3 – Panamint Springs to Furnace Creek. A tough day with approx. 3,400ft of ascent, but 5,000ft of descent! Cycling distance approx. 56 miles / 90km.
Day4 – Furnace Creek to Pahrump via Devils Hole – a Death Valley National Monument, Zabriskie Point (700ft) and Death Valley Junction (2,037ft). Cycling distance approx. 61 miles / 98km.
Day5 – Pahrump to Las Vegas via Mountain Springs Summit (5,490ft) the highest point of our challenge, and a long descent past Red Rock Canyons. Cycling distance approx. 62 miles / 100km.
