UPDATE: 14 September 2015
So after the devastating earthquake 4 months ago in Nepal, our Everest Base Camp trek was postponed. We've now bit the bullet and decided to go in October and we still want to raise as much as we can for the Alzheimer's Society. Any money we can raise together will go directly to this wonderful charity. Thanks to you all for giving so generously so far.
Thanks
Jo and Deryl

Some of you may or may not know that Deryl and I are climbing to base camp at Everest in Nepal in April. It's just under 18,000 ft and will take us around 12 days with just the very basics to keep us going. Clearly we've lost our minds...i mean....who does this?!?! But we've bought our boots, got our headlamps, got enough thermals to choke a donkey, and gosh darn-it, we're going to give it a right good go. Here's hoping that neither of us are airlifted off through altitude sickness, injury, starvation, or all of the above. Just kidding mum, we'll be grand....it's only a walk up a hill really.......
Anyhow we've been asked a lot if we're collecting for charity to help motivate us to make it to the top and we figured it would be a good way to raise money for a worthy cause. Alzheimer's disease is close to my heart and as our population ages, it's terribly sad to know that more and more people are going to be affected. So if you're able to dig deep and sponsors us, maybe we can help together!
Thanks and wish us luck!
