My Grandad has vascular dementia and as he is 89 he has spent most of this year self isolating with my Nan. I am so thankful they are still able to live independently at home and that they have each other but still, this year has taken it's toll on both of them - as it has for so many with dementia and dementia carers.  I wanted to do something to help from afar so, I found a virtual running group. Through Running Woman @runningwomanuk I have joined a virtual running challenge! The challenge......to run 200km in the month of December. Whilst running my way through December, I thought I'd try to raise some money for dementia charity Dementia Adventure.

Dementia Adventure believes, with the right support, people living with dementia can continue to enjoy outdoor activities, keep active and retain a sense of adventure in their lives. They have trained thousands of individuals to think differently about dementia and enabled hundreds to enjoy a supported dementia holiday - making a huge difference to the wellbeing of people with dementia and their families.

Now, more than ever, those living with dementia and dementia careers need a break from the everyday challenges they face whilst in lockdown. Any amount of money you donate would be truly appreciated :)
