Story
Hello, hello! I am Emily Bowman, the Deputy CEO at The Mighty Creatives. Starting on Friday 1st May I will be taking part The 2.6 Challenge! (I know, I know, I’m a little late to the party, but it’s all for a good cause!).
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The UK’s mass participation event industry has come together with JustGiving to create The 2.6 Challenge, a nationwide fundraising campaign launched in response to COVID-19 to Save the UK's Charities.
Be a stay at home hero. Take on the 2.6 Mighty Challenge and help The Mighty Creatives to help the most vulnerable children and young people across the East Midlands.
So, this weekend, we would normally be celebrating the thousands of London Marathon runners making the 26.2 miles across London to
raise vital funding for the UK’s charities, just like The Mighty Creatives. But the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic means that so many fundraising events and activities, raising such important funds for children and young people, cannot go ahead this year.
2.6 Mighty Challenge
Here at The Mighty Creatives we are taking the 2.6
Challenge to our own mighty level, using the campaign to help us raise awareness and vital funds to support some of our most vulnerable children and young people across the region.
With so many more young people vulnerable, isolated, lonely, with limited access to support and in some cases no food in the cupboards,
we simply cannot wait to offer them support. The need is now.
By taking on the 2.6 Challenge, together we can still make a difference for children and young people around the region.
What is The 2.6 Challenge?
The 2.6 Challenge kicked off on Sunday 26thApril. It is a nationwide event that you can do anywhere – yes even in your home.
The challenge can be anything you like – as long as it
has the numbers 2 and 6 in it! All you need to do is dream up an activity, donate of fundraise with us, and smash your challenge, starting from Sunday 26th April 2020.
I will share my progress here and through my Twitter @Emilyjbow. You can also see our teams progress and supporters throughout the month across our social media channels @MightyCreatives and by following #BeMightyBeCreative26 #StayMightyStayCreative
Want to join me? Be not a sporty? As we are mighty and creative, your challenge does not have to be a physical one. We have already had some fantastic ideas:
- hosting a virtual dance off with 26 friends
- singing 26 songs non-stop on a Facebook live
- pledging to walk up and down the stairs reading your favourite book 26 times for 26 days
Whatever you do, make sure you follow government guidelines on exercise and social distancing #staysafe #stayhome #protecttheNHS
The Mighty Creatives target is to try and raise £2.6K to support 26 young people in and leaving care with essential one to one creative
mentoring and care packages to support them through the crisis.
How do I pay in?
You can donate or fundraise for us via Just Giving. Once you have set up a fundraising page, do not forget to share it on social
media with the hashtag #BeMightyBeCreative26 #TwoPointSixChallenge @MightyCreatives
Why The Mighty Creatives?
By choosing to support The Mighty Creatives, you are
helping children and young people across our region to thrive not just survive COVID 19. The money you raise will make sure these young people are safe, healthy and learning, so they can manage the challenges of social isolation.
