Story

Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page.

I'm an actress, currently training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. I've just finished my first year, supported by trusts and bursaries. I still need to raise money to be able to afford my next year of training, which is the reason for my fundraising efforts on this page.

I've had a wonderful year, learning the basics of Stanislavskian techniques, clowning, mime, voice, singing, movement, dance and much more. Next year holds in store stage fighting, continued skills classes and a wealth of classical text projects from the Greeks to Shakespeare. You can visit the RADA website here - www.rada.ac.uk.

Training as an actor has been something that I have wanted to do for a very long time. It has taken me years to get myself both the theatrical and the life experience to be able to successfully audition for the top drama schools. Last year, aged 22, I made it. It has been a challenging and engaging year, and I couldn't be happier to return to Bloomsbury this coming September.

As some of you will already know, since the government have put up tuition fees to £9000, my journey to RADA has been made a lot more difficult. I already have a degree and hefty tuition and maintenance loans to go with it. When I started at university before the rise (2009), I thought that the hard-earned savings that I had collected, specifically set aside for theatre training later in life, would be enough, and that I would be able to afford to go to drama school after some further education.

I am now only able to afford a third of the fees. Thanks to the kind folk at the Wall Trust, I have been granted a partial fee waiver, which means that what I am looking to do know is cover maintenance costs.

This is where wonderful people like you come in. If you, your company or anybody you know are able to give anything however small, I will be extremely humbled and grateful for your contribution.

An idea of what your money will go towards:

£5 - will cover my photocopying costs for a term

£10 - will buy me a costume

£20 - will pay for equipment costs this year

£50 - will cover costs for toiletries for a year

£75 - will feed me for a month

£100 - will pay a week's rent

£150 - will pay for student insurance

£200 - will pay for my third year headshots

£250 - will pay off a week's worth of fees

£1500 - will pay for a deposit on a flat to rent

£3000 - will pay a term's worth of fees

Thank you.
