Helping to reduce loneliness at Christmas
TTTB wanted to make sure that older people had company at Christmas
Time To Talk Befriending
Too many elderly people spend the Christmas holiday alone. In many cases those who are housebound or far away from their families, or who do not have families, will be desperately lonely. Time To Talk Befriending focus on providing community outreach and befriending to reduce feelings of chronic loneliness.
With that in mind they were conscious that Christmas can be a profoundly lonely time for many elderly people, and wanted to raise money to provide special meals, presents and cards for those without a family to spend time on the most festive day of the year.
With their Campaign they communicated exactly how much they would need to achieve their goals, detailing how much a meal and present would cost per person. This tangibility makes it easy for supporters to connect with a campaign, and means they are more likely to donate to help.
"I sold mini paper goods at this year's TRINITY Lewes Christmas Fair to raise funds for TTTB - keep doing what you're doing. You make such a difference to so many lives across Sussex."
