Streamline your fundraiser's journey with deeplinks
Your how, why, what, where and when guide to using JustGiving deeplinks
Well, put simply it’ll make yours and your fundraisers lives easier. If that’s not enough to convince you, then how about save time and get event participants to create a fundraising page in a few simple clicks?
In the background it will also make your life easier when running reports on an event. You’ll be able to find all your fundraisers in one place because thanks to using a deeplink, they’ll all be listed under the same event, with the same spelling and the same date. This means no more discovering three weeks before the event date that someone’s running a half marathon for you!
In turn it will help your fundraisers EVEN more by enabling you to provide them with a wonderful supporter journey from start to finish making them happier and more successful in their fundraising.
Essentially, think of deeplinks as tools which are sitting in your JustGiving account, free and quick to use and capable of making your life easier.
First of all head to the Fundraising tab within your JustGiving account. You’ll see the option to add an event. Once the event is approved, head back to the Fundraising tab and click on ‘view & promote events’. A page will appear listing your events and you’ll have the option to click on a ‘promote this event’ button. Your deeplink will be available here and you can copy it and use it to hyperlink a fundraise for us button.

What will this look like for your fundraisers?
Your potential fundraisers visit your website or receive an email confirming their place in an upcoming event. They click on the ‘Fundraise for us’ button you’ve included in the email and they’re taken straight through to a page which looks something like this. All your fundraiser will have to do is log in and they’re already half way to creating a page with the event and your charity already selected.
Where does a deeplink belong?
Well, just about anywhere you’d like them to but the most obvious and useful places are anywhere you’ll be communicating with potential fundraisers. So from monthly newsletters, to comms to confirm a place in an upcoming event or detail event plans. They can also go on your event page on a website so own place participants can also fundraise. If you think a potential fundraiser might be reading an email or looking somewhere on your website – put a deeplink in!
