A lack of self worth and a sense of 'pointlessness' can cause young people to want to end their life; this is often born out of a lack of structure and the absence of specific interests in life.
Ned took his own life on the railway line at Witley Station on 17th July 2017; he was 20. Ned and education just did not work; he was under-stimulated and, as a result, disruptive.
Ned's Fund will be devoted to supporting charities which give young people, like Ned, a chance to do something entirely new; offering them vocational training to discover more about themselves and a clear way of seeing their true potential. They are hoping to give as many opportunities as possible to young people between the ages of 12 and 24.
Ned's Fund is currently a small charity based in my hometown, and Ned was the cousin of a close friend of mine.
I will be running 10 marathons within 6 months from the January - June 2020. The marathons I hope to run are:
Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated! I am far from an experienced runner, having not run a marathon previously.
I will be joined by friends at different marathons, so please let me know if you would like to run with me or if you will be in the area and want to meet.
Thank you, Mike
