Menkes disease is a fatal illness in which the intestines are unable to absorb copper, depriving the brain and other tissues of this essential mineral.

Story

Time for the big one!

On October 15th I will be running the Birmingham Marathon, 26.2 miles. Thank you to everyone who supported me over the last year, and thank you in advance to anyone who sponsors me for this!

This is for Ollie!

Ok, those of you who know me will know that I'm not the most slender of people, and I'm prone to having big ideas then not really following them through. But then I am also desperate to not let people down, so this is my public commitment.

In April 2016 my nephew Ollie passed away. He was the bravest and strongest person I ever met. He had so much courage and determination that he made me realise that you can do anything if you put your mind to it, so I wanted to do something big for him. Something that will push me, challenge me physically and mentally, and something that will take commitment and dedication.

Over the next 12 months I will be competing in 12 races. These will get progressively more difficult
