Knowing that you have a safe place to return to after a long day out is often taken for granted by those of us that are housed. To rough sleepers, “where will I sleep?” is a harsh reality that has to be faced on a daily basis.

This autumn, I will participate in three events to raise awareness of the work of CHESS Homeless:

- Swim Serpentine - an open water swim on 18th September

- Chelmsford Half Marathon - on 3rd October

- Oxford Half Marathon - on 17th October

CHESS is a small Chelmsford-based charity which has offered help and support to hundreds of homeless people since it was launched 22 years ago.
