I spend my working life supporting people who are fundraising for Action Duchenne.  I have the best job in the world, working with this amazing group of people who do the craziest things to raise money to find a cure for Duchenne.  Many of them are parents who are working full time, bringing up a family, whilst also battling for the care and support they need for their child who is living with Duchenne.  

They put me to shame, so it is time for me to do something about that, so I am also going to take on some crazy challenges throughout 2017 to help join the fight in finding a cure, and improving the lives of everybody who is living with Duchenne!

For those who don't know, Duchenne is the most severe kind of muscular dystrophy.  It is a degenerative, muscle wasting condition affecting most muscles in the body, usually diagnosed in early childhood.  By age 12, most children living with Duchenne will need the use of a wheelchair full time, and often will lose the use of their arms before they turn 20.  Sadly their life expectancy is around mid-twenties, as the muscles around the lungs and the heart are also affected.

There is no cure.

Action Duchenne fund research to find a cure, whilst also campaigning, and working to improve the lives of everybody affected by the condition.  Providing vital support to families from early diagnosis onwards.  Every penny donated takes us one step closer to a cure. Please help us!
