This page is to purchase tickets for the evening with Chris Lubbe event to be held on Tuesday 25^th June at the Holiday Inn in Winchester. Tickets are £15 per person in advance. Please also  send us your details via fundraisingkenya@outlook.com so that we can forward you your tickets.

Chris Lubbe is a previous body guard of Nelson Mandela. Born at a very difficult period in South Africa’s history, Chris made a decision very early in his life to become an activist and oppose the racially based system of ‘apartheid’. This decision was to put him on a direct collision course with the ‘apartheid’ regime which was to result in several spells of incarceration, torture and near death experiences. After Nelson Mandela’s release from prison in 1990 and the subsequent fall of ‘apartheid’ Chris worked with Nelson Mandela until his retirement as a bodyguard and also got involved in the delicate negotiations with the 'apartheid regime' resulting in subsequent agreement and the drafting of the new constitution. 

At present Chris works within various sectors as a keynote speaker and uses stories from his past to inspire positive change. His talks cover various themes such as determination, courage, humanity, responsibility, courage and forgiveness. Despite meeting a vast array of world leaders and celebrities, Chris draws mainly from the important lessons he learned from working with Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. www.chrislubbe.co.uk

We are hosting this evening to raise funds for Action Aid as in October we are boarding a plane to Kenya to build a much-needed support centre for young survivors of violence. This centre will be a place where medical, psychological and legal support can be obtained. We will be digging foundations, mixing cement and laying bricks.

To fund the project we have pledged to raise a total of £6,400 but we can’t do it alone. To be clear, we are personally funding our
flights and accommodation costs and no part of our fundraising will go towards
this.
