On Friday 15th June  Kenny, Gary, Jim, Laura, Mark, Simon and Martin - seven regulars from the Half Moon pub in Felixstowe - have undertaken to tackle the Three Peaks in 24 hours Challenge.

Ably assisted by our support driver Pete, we will be making our way to Fort William and arrive at the foot of Ben Nevis around 4pm on Friday.  Taking advantage of the extended daylight around this time of the year, we hope to make our way up and down in around 5 and a half hours before driving south during the hours of darkness to Scafell Pike in The Lake District ready for a sunrise climb on Saturday morning.  For the third and final leg we will be making our way to Snowdon with hopes of completing that climb and descent before 4pm Saturday, thereby completing the 3 countries, 3 peaks, in 24 hours challenge.

Cancer Research UK statistics show that one in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime.  If not affected ourselves, we all know a close family member, friend, or work colleague who has suffered and been grateful for treatment which only exists thanks to the work of organisations like Cancer research UK.

Happily, more than 50% of people diagnosed with cancer in the UK now survive ten years or more - a survival rate that has doubled in the last 40 years.
