Story
Hello! I’m Mima, I have FND & 8 months ago I was left with paralysis down my left side after having a seizure & falling down a staircase. I spent 4 months in hospital, 2 in Queen Mary’s – an intensive rehabilitation programme including a range of therapy; speech & language, occupational, psychological & physiotherapy.
I started out mentally and physically not in a good place & left almost on cloud 9! I feel so lucky to have had the recovery I had & have the incredible & knowledgeable team who looked after me to thank.
Life hasn’t been plain sailing since leaving hospital however I decided when I left hospital I would run a marathon at some point over the next few years. I realised I was a bit ambitious and over excited, so I’m starting with the Battersea 10K on the 11th of December!
I would really appreciate any donations to FND Hope UK, this charity helps many patients, families, research & enables awareness to be spread passionately. I felt safe as a patient when I came across FND Hope UK, I didn’t feel alone after being called a medical mystery for years. After being chronically ill since age 7, I finally felt there was something and somewhere I could show friends and family to understand what FND was. Thank you so much FND Hope UK, I hope to make my family, friends, doctors & you proud on the 11th December.
