Throughout 2015 I am taking on a personal fundraising challenge to help raise much needed funds for Carers UK. I will be climbing 50 hills, one for each year that Carers UK has been supporting carers. Across the UK I will be taking on a variety of hills including tough challenging climbs, famous landmark hills, and hills with special meaning for me or the people walking with me.
Caring for a loved one can sometimes feel like an uphill struggle so it seemed fitting to reflect this in my fundraising challenge. I also wanted to reflect the spirit and determination of the many thousands of committed people in the carers movement who have done so much over the last 50 years to help make life better for carers. So along the way I will be joined by carers, supporters, family and friends, work colleagues, and others who will help meet the 50 hill challenge. No one should have to care alone and together we can make life better for carers.
I start on New Year's Day and you can follow my story through the year, and if you're able to join me for any of the hill walks I'd love to have you alongside me.
