This is the seventh two day ride organised for a group of Tyne Valley cyclists. Each year we select a charity and attempt to get fit enough for the two day challenge. This year the first day takes us over the Tyne, Allen, Wear, Tees and Eden rivers to Appleby in Cumbria. The second day we return to the Tyne Valley via Brampton avoiding all those river valley ups and downs. It’s about 200 kilometres all told (~ 120 miles) and ‘quite a lot’  of climbing.

We are again being helped by Wylam Nissan of Hexham  who will support our riders with a van and other backup services. In addition our essential mid-ride re-fuelling is looked after by a dedicated team of shoppers and sandwich makers led by Val Thornton

About the charity

We are a non judgemental charity. We serve 250-300 hot meals a day, 365 days a year. We also provide clothing and bathroom facilities. We are 100% volunteer led & we receive no government funding. We rely on the generosity of the public to be able to support those less fortunate than ourselves.
