Anaphylaxis UK is the only UK-wide charity operating solely for the growing numbers of people at risk of serious allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. While there’s no treatment or cure for anaphylaxis, we believe that by providing information, training and support, there is a brighter future.

Story

In March 2000 I was diagnosed as anaphylactic after a severe allergic reaction to a piece of fish I'd eaten.

In July 2013, my daughter who was less a year old, after many months of unidentified pain, sickness and rashes was diagnosed with multiple severe allergies; which now includes milk, egg and rice.

Its rough as an adult, its even worse as a parent; and I'd do anything to make this go away for my daughter.

So, what am I going to do?

Train to run 4 races in both USA and France (a combination of 10km and 1/2 marathon distances) to earn 7 Disney medals.

Why the number 7?

I always remember the nurse who explained to me that with an anaphylactic reaction, you can be unconscious in 6 minutes and if no action is taken - dead after 7!

The Anaphylaxis Campaign helps raise awareness, supports research and gives advice on this condition.
