Story

Charity Challenge

Each year the AMYA organises a large charity event, the ‘Charity Challenge’, which invites people from across the UK to walk, run or cycle to raise money for charity.

The Charity Challenge was established in the 1980s and has grown from being a modest event which raised hundreds of pounds for charity into a large national event that raises roughly a quarter of a million pounds each year. The event is hosted in a different area each year, with some previous areas including the Tower of London, Hampshire, Wimbledon, and the Yorkshire Dales.

The beneficiaries of the money raised by the Charity Challenge have included Barnardoʹs, the British Heart Foundation, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Humanity First, Macmillan Cancer Support, the NSPCC, Save the Children, the Royal British Legion, The Royal Hospital for Neuro Disability Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and the RNIB.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association UK (AMYA) is the UK’s oldest, largest and leading Muslim youth organisation.

The AMYA is a subsidiary organisation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK. The AMYA runs regular programmes of structured activities for the youth with a mix of academic, sporting, social welfare and charitable works which keep its members engaged. One of AMYA’s key objectives is to serve and contribute to society at all levels through active integration and engagement. The purpose of all these activities is to engender the spirit of discipline and service to the wider community irrespective of people’s beliefs, race, or gender. Its motto ‘Love for All, Hatred for None’ underpins this ethos.
