Mike was a passionate advocate of our profession and an active contributor at events and on social media. His energy and warmth was infectious; he brought a great deal to the profession as a whole, and to those of us individually who were lucky enough to have enjoyed his good humour and wise advice. He was a much-loved and highly respected friend and colleague to so many and our bid community is much poorer with his loss.

Mike tragically lost his battle with his mental health in the week before Christmas 2018. He was only 34 years old.

At the 2018 conference Mike spoke about his battle with his mental health, encouraging us all to engage in conversation about this difficult subject. Several members have commented that he was the first person to say hi when they arrived at events, and even more have said that his honesty around his battles has helped them with their own. We must sustain these qualities in the constructive and supportive way that Mike showed us.

On 5th June 2019 APMP UK are holding a summer social in honour of Mike with all proceeds going to Mind. We know that many of our members are unable to attend on the night and have set up this page to allow everyone to contribute.
