Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi All,
Thanks for stopping by. So I may be a little crazy, but I like a challenge and this is by far the most challenging thing I have ever done. In just over 5 weeks on 29 April at approx 7am I will be starting a 106km walk around the whole of the Isle of Wight.
Why am I doing this? For myself and all other MS fighters out there! I'm living with a disabling chronic disease, and frankly I don't want to anymore - I want there to be a cure in my lifetime.
In April last year I was diagnosed with Relapse Remitting Multiple Sclerosis an autoimmune chronic disease which affects the nerves in your brain and spinal cord. My diagnosis came after going blind in one eye in 2014 for a period of time, then losing feeling from the waist down in February 2016.
Since my diagnosis it has been a daily struggle wondering whether I will wake up and not be able to walk, talk or simply feel anything (my body can attack me at any given moment).
I will be taking part in the walk to raise money for the MS Community. All monies no matter how big or small will go towards important research, support for sufferers and their families, better care and funding for crucial treatments and ultimately a cure.
I'm determined not to let this disease beat me.."I have MS, it doesn't have me"
