We work in rural Uganda to transform lives in the local community

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Not wishing to do things easy, I am aiming to run my first marathon in Uganda, this coming June! Training has been tough so far and I am just about half way there so your support is highly appreciated!

African Village Support are a wonderful charity supporting local people in villages in eastern Uganda. They bring stability to the people they work with and help to empower them by building sustainable community projects. To date their work includes the building of a school hostel for girls and a large community centre, supporting over 20 women's groups, and more than 50 students educated along with livelihood projects for young people.

They also work with the most vulnerable poverty stricken families in the area to try to keep as many people as possible fed and medically supported. This is a huge challenge due to the number of families requiring support.

For more information on the charity and the work they hope to achieve in the future please see their website: https://www.africanvillagesupport.org
