Since I left the military in 2012 I've seen many ex servicemen and women on the streets. Each individual came with a different story and all of them had one thing in common and that was the desire to get back into work and to get their lives back on track.

When I heard about the Extra Mile Challenge I didn't hesitate to sign up when I heard that 75% of the donations this year will go to the homeless (many of which have served their country). The challenge consists of a 4 person team basically cycling 90 miles a day for three days across France and all the money raised this year will go to help the homeless in Northampton and will also be donated to Bedford Hospitals Trust , Wheel Power and Willen Hospice .These charities are based close to where I was bought up so they have great sentimental value.

I know that this time of year brings many charity events and many people like myself asking you to donate. Please donate if you can and our team will raise another £1200 for a worthy cause. The 14 Extra Mile challenges so far have raised nearly £1.4 million for over 280 different charities.
