Arlo was born by emergency Caesarian at 41 weeks after a normal pregnancy and spent his first 11 days in Queen Charlottes neonatal. He was described as 'the biggest baby but also the sickest' by one of the Doctors. It was devastating to hear he had suffered strokes just before he was born.
He has benefited from Physio, occupational therapy and other therapies from the NHS which have helped shape a cheeky, and active boy. He has come such a long way from that scary start to his life.
He is now 6 and has cerebral palsy and is taking part in the super hero series celebrity triathlon team. The idea has been to create fun, gutsy events where people with disabilities call the shots and don't have to worry about cut-off times or equipment restrictions. He is in Kadeena Cox' team who is just one of the amazing individuals taking part in this unique event which includes many paralympians. Arlo and his family will complete the 1k run part of the triathlon
We are raising money for the neonatal unit at Queen Charlottes that saved his life. The NHS is simply incredible and we can never put into words our appreciation of the care we have received.
We also want to show Arlo he can do anything he wants to with his determination and our support.
